Romania is one of the most popular countries in Eastern Europe, and with some beautiful beaches, magical mountains, medieval towns (where they can boast the birthplace of Dracula) and rapidly developing cities, it’s no wonder the country’s a hit.
Macca travelled around Romania a couple of years ago and a couple of his highlights were seeing the bright colours of Sighisoara, exploring all the castles of Brasov, and walking around the hugely impressive Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. The Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania, is the second largest administrative building in the world. In other words, it is absolutely massive.
Brasov is considered to be the number one tourist destination in Romania, and with numerous sites and activities around the city it is easy to understand why.
One of the things you will immediately notice about walking the streets of Sighisoara is the colours – every other building is painted a bright pastel colour.
I hadn’t seen anyone for about 10 minutes, though I had become quite familiar with the feeling, for I was walking the cobbled streets of Sibiu.
